Centuries of history as the Baltic Sea’s natural hub for seafarers and traders have embedded hospitality deep in the DNA of the Bornholm people. Welcoming visitors from outside has shaped an authentic form of presence, where guests are welcomed at eye level, with homely warmth and a strong sense of local pride.
And it is also this hospitality that is the driving force behind the family company Team Bornholm, which was founded by the director’s grandfather and father. Here, they don’t just rent out bricks and beds. Here, they carefully shape the entire holiday experience.
All the company’s employees live on Bornholm themselves. They know every corner of the island and take care of all the practicalities: ferry tickets, holiday homes and experiences for the whole family. The quality is uncompromising. The care that everyone has a good holiday is the same.
When rain clouds gather over Solskinsoen, a message ticks into the guests’ phones long before the first drop hits the window: Three hand-picked suggestions for indoor activities that can be booked immediately.
If a problem arises, guests don’t call a distant call center. They call a local employee who knows the holiday home. And when a guest has locked themselves out in the dark, it could easily be the director himself, who jumps on his bike to help.
It’s not just holiday rentals. It’s Bornholm hospitality.
Team Bornholm has 25 years of experience and manages over 500 holiday homes spread across the island – from the rocky coasts in the north to the sandy beaches in the south, from quiet forest edges to lively harbour towns.
The homes undergo an ongoing quality assessment. This means that what is presented in the catalogue actually lives up to what the pictures promise. The homes vary from smaller, secluded single-family homes to larger properties with space for families and groups of friends. Many are located close to the sea, forest or one of the island’s many artist communities.
Many of the homeowners in Team Bornholm’s portfolio are former guests themselves who have since bought a place on the island. Team Bornholm handles all communication with the tenants and takes care of maintenance and preparation, so that the owners can enjoy their own house when they are there.
And when the landlords are on their way home, they are welcome to stop by Team Bornholm’s newly decorated premises on Snellemark. There is always a cup of coffee ready, and there is space to relax or work while waiting for the ferry.
