Fabers Summer Café

If you appreciate a sublime café experience, Fabers in Allinge is a perfect choice. Fabers Summer Café is nestled next to the church, close to the beach – an atmospheric meeting place shaped by finesse, cocktails, coffee, art, and room for an inspiring life.

Already upon arrival in the terraced garden, you’ll sense the unique ambiance of Fabers. Every detail is thoughtfully considered as guests enjoy a cocktail or a cup of coffee in the café’s many cozy corners, both indoors and out. Granite sculptures by the Bornholm-based artist Jun-Ichi Inoue stand as a timeless tribute to the island’s geology. The coffee is especially good, and the café’s cocktails are a story in themselves.

Fabers is more than just a café. It’s an experience. Each winter is spent fine-tuning flavors and impressions. Every cocktail is shaken with the taste of Bornholm. Forest and sea. Smoke and berries. The lime juice is always freshly squeezed, and the homemade syrups are flavored with inspiration from the island’s gardens. Barista coffee is brewed with organic beans and served in locally crafted Bornholm ceramics. Guests can also enjoy carefully selected wines and delicate small dishes.

Inside the café, the whitewashed walls and worn stone floor tell tales of a bygone era when farmers and herring markets set the pace of life. Today, Fabers is an artistic sanctuary imbued with the intention to create an inspiring and playful atmosphere in every detail.

The bar, handcrafted from Bornholm Douglas fir, is a work of art in itself, and above the guests float Veronica Hodges’ luminous paper jellyfish in a sea of changing colors.

Quirky Faber

Lulu Faber grew up on Bornholm but spent much of her life abroad. With a career in culture and acting behind her, she returned to Bornholm with a vision: to create a sanctuary where the effort and beauty of life are given space.

Lulu is devoted to detail. Fabers is shaped by equal parts imagination, entrepreneurship, and a strong desire for community.

The Taste of Bornholm

When winter rages, the Fabers team doesn’t go into hibernation. Instead, they develop, taste, reflect, and discuss. What’s the next move? What should guests taste? What should hang on the walls? And how do you set the stage for experiences that travel home with the ferry?

A Sensory Breathing Space

Throughout the summer, Fabers fills with deep conversations. With art on the walls. With celebrations. With presence and moments that nourish the soul. It’s embedded in the culture of the place to make time for reflection. To make time for people.
Here, community isn’t an event—it’s part of the atmosphere.

There is room for everyone:
The family in need of a break.
The friends eager to taste Bornholm.
The guest with a book in their backpack.
A meeting place in the heart of summer, with the beach just around the corner.
