HOTEL FRIHEDEN

Hotel Friheden is situated in scenic surroundings along the rocky northern coast of Bornholm directly overlooking the Baltic Sea. The hotel’s roots date back to the 1940s, and it has some of the proudest traditions of any hotel on Bornholm. 

Today, only the name and location are the same as then, because Hotel Friheden is a modern hotel with 47 newly refurbished rooms, a panoramic restaurant, an indoor pool area with a sauna and a number of holiday apartments. 

The restaurant at Hotel Friheden is open to the public and its short name is simply ‘Ø’ (island), for Bornholm and for the Christiansø archipelago visible from the restaurant’s patio with its panoramic views. Restaurant Ø is open from midday, and in the afternoon it serves sandwiches, pastries, home-made ice cream, coffee, tea and beverages of any kind. In the evening, you can enjoy a fine dinner with dishes from a well-appointed menu that also features a wide selection of wines, beers, cocktails and home-made ice cream. 

Hotel Friheden exudes peace and quiet and an unspoilt atmosphere of freedom and relaxation. And with short distances and good connections to many of the island’s attractions and sights of interest, a superb bathing beach only a few hundred metres from the hotel and only seven kilometres to the beautifully situated North Bornholm Golf Course, Hotel Friheden is an ideal base for your Bornholm holiday, for a few days or a few weeks.

Hotel Friheden welcomes its guests with 47 modern rooms and a number of holiday apartments. Almost all the rooms are newly refurbished, and many directly overlook the Baltic Sea. Many rooms also have the option of an extra bed.
